With its use dating back more than 2000 years, Acupuncture is an ancient and effective drug-free form of health care.

How does it Work?

One of the most important concepts of Traditional Chinese Medicine is that of Qi, the vital force or energy that flows through a system of channels in the body known as the Meridians.
The goal of acupuncture is to establish healthy body function by restoring the natural circulation of energy, or Qi.
In simple terms, by inserting fine needles into specific energetic points on the Meridian paths (the body’s energy channels) the energy flow of Qi is stimulated, removing the blockages that cause pain and disease.

The Meridians are connected to the internal organs, meaning a healthy flow of Qi can help heal disease in their respective organs.

Does the process of acupuncture hurt?

No, not at all. The insertion of the needles into the acupuncture points is not a painful process since the needles are very fine. Sometimes you may feel a slight tingling, or electric sensation as the needle enters the skin however over time and through regular treatments Acupuncture can become very relaxing.
